Digital twin

Test it in the simulator before it touches the water.

A digital twin of Whai running the real autopilot, with jet-boat physics, simulated cameras and radar. The same code that drives the vessel drives the sim.

Rules of the road

300 encounters. No collisions. Every decision on record.

Autonomous behaviour is tested against COLREG scenarios in the simulator. Every decision the software makes can be replayed, so operators and assessors see exactly why the vessel did what it did.

Sensing

Cue the camera. Track the target.

The onboard EO/IR gimbal is cued by AIS or radar and follows the contact automatically. The operator watches; the vessel keeps the picture.

The stack

Vessel, console, simulator.

Onboard

Autonomy

Mission execution, sensing, collision avoidance and target tracking on the vessel.

Shore

Whai Ops

Fleet view, mission planning and direct control from one console.

Shore

Simulator

Rehearse, train and test autonomy against the rules before a vessel leaves the dock. Pāpaka launch and recovery included.

Principle

Human on the loop, by design.

An officer of the watch is always responsible for the vessel. Autonomy reduces workload. It never removes accountability.
